The School of Dental Medicine Pre-Clinical Simulation Center at the University at Buffalo is featured on Education Snapshots, a leading online publisher and resource for the global education design community. This is the second feature of 2018 for BKP; the LaB at Johns Hopkins University was highlighted in January.
The $12 million, 13,500-square-foot renovation was completed in two phases to keep the lab fully operational while increasing the number of workstations from 90 to 146. The redesign incorporates collaborative, clustered workstations, integrated simulation technology, and a dramatic backlit photo mural of downtown Buffalo.

BKP Associate Caitlin A. Daley, AIA, co-authored an article in the March issue of American School & University magazine. “A Varied Diet,” written with longtime BKP consultant Amanda Gibney Weko, details how variety and flexibility in foodservice furnishings can contribute to students’ use and enjoyment of spaces. The article features BKP’s foodservice designs for Bulldog Tavern at Georgetown University, the LaB at Johns Hopkins University, and the Class of 1920 Commons Dining facility at the University of Pennsylvania.
