Matthew Silvia, Assoc. AIA
Project Manager and Senior Designer
Matthew Silvia has spent more than a decade with BKP, joining the firm in 2004 and evolving from an entry-level teammate to a project leader. Highly organized, attentive to details, and able to meet the tightest deadlines, Matthew has become an integral part of the firm. His strengths lie in understanding, interpreting, and implementing code analysis and in working with contractors to facilitate construction administration. Coworkers, clients, and consultants alike know him as a reliable and dedicated resource for all phases of design development, service, and documentation.
Matthew divides his time between Philadelphia and Gastonia, North Carolina, where he founded the nonprofit Gastonia BMX, which helps the local community and kids stay active through racing, cycling competitions, and events. Matthew has been racing motocross bikes for all of his adult life and is a nationally ranked professional BMX racer and certified USA Cycling coach. In addition to founding Gastonia BMX, he revitalized the track’s formerly abandoned site and performed most of the design/build renovation work himself.
