Sara DeMuth, AIA, LEED Green Associate
Sara DeMuth participates in all aspects of BKP’s collaborative studio culture. She looks at each project as its own puzzle, and investigates design solutions that are unique to each client, site, and community. Sara believes organization and open-mindedness are keys to maximizing imagination.
A registered architect and member of NCARB, Sara has taken leadership roles on projects at the University of Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins University, and regularly manages the firm’s construction administration responsibilities. She also coordinates and maintains BKP’s products and materials library.
Sara participates in the AIA Philadelphia Emerging Architects (PEA) program, through which small groups of architects at different career levels meet monthly to share perspectives on the industry and effective career development. She also mentors with the ACE Mentor Program of Eastern Pennsylvania and volunteers with the Community Design Collaborative.
While at Philadelphia University, Sara served as community outreach manager for Freedom By Design, a community service program that partnered with Habitat for Humanity to make accessibility improvements in area homes. She remains engaged with her alma mater, serving as a visiting juror for design classes.
In her free time, Sara coaches soccer in South Philadelphia’s Capitolo Youth Soccer League, plays soccer in an adult league, and paints. She lives in South Philadelphia.
