BKP’s design for the University of Pennsylvania High Bay BLAST Research Laboratory has been selected to appear as an Outstanding Design in the 2013 American School & University Architectural Portfolio, an annual feature celebrating the best in educational architectural design. BKP’s design for the UPENN Class of 1920 Dining Commons earned recognition in American School & University‘s Educational Interiors Showcase earlier this year.
Judges selected 145 projects to be featured in the November issue of American School & University magazine. The BLAST Research Laboratory was cited for outstanding design in a specialized facility. The lab houses fabrication and display of the Balloon-borne Large Aperture Sub-millimeter Telescope, which helps researchers understand the formation of stars and galaxies.
